Ciullo Hits 1,000 Career Points in Win Over John Jay

Pacers improve to 3-3

Scranton, Pa. — The Marywood University women's basketball team was back in action on Saturday, hosting John Jay College. The Pacers (3-3) pulled out the win, 73-63. 

Olivia Ciullo netted her 1000th career point and led all scorers with 21 points, along the way. 

Marywood got off to a slow start, falling behind 16-13 by the end of the first quarter. 

The Pacers picked it up in quarter two, outscoring the Bloodhounds by 16 and taking a 39-26 lead into the half. 

After a tightly contested third quarter, Marywood remained ahead 50-39. 

The fourth quarter was nothing short of a battle on both sides, with Marywood walking away with the ten-point victory. 

The Pacers shot 23-59 (39.0 percent) from the field in total, 5-19 (26.3 percent) from three, and 22-29 (75.9 percent) from the free-throw line. 

John Jay didn't fare as well, shooting 22-63 (34.9 percent) in total, 1-9 (11.1 percent) from beyond the arc, and 18-29 (62.1 percent) from the stripe. 

Anyah Ortiz (13) and Alli Anstadt (14) recorded double-digit points for the Pacers. 

The Bloodhounds out-rebounded the Pacers, 46-36.  

Anstadt led Marywood with eight rebounds. 

The Pacers will host Elmira College on Wednesday.
