Men's Basketball Falls to Neumann in Atlantic East Semifinals

Marywood makes its second consecutive trip to the AEC semis

Aston, Pa. -- Marywood University suffered an 89-69 loss to Neumann University Wednesday in the Atlantic East Conference men's basketball semifinals. The Knights advance to host Marymount University in the Atlantic East final. 

Both Michel Loftin and Brendan Franko finished with 12 points apiece. 

Neumann was led by Donte Dupriest's double-double of 20 points and 11 rebounds. The Knights had five players in double figures. 

Marywood's 14 wins are the fourth-most in school history. 

Franko completes his career with 1,263 points. He currently ranks fourth all-time among all-time scorers at Marywood. 

Neumann shot 59.4 percent from the field. Marywood made 43.3 percent of its attempts. The Pacers were 11 for 28 from beyond the arc for a 39.3 percent clip. 

The Knights dominated the paint. Neumann outscored Marywood by a 54-26 margin. The Pacers' bench outproduced Neumann 31-15. 

Marywood finishes its season with a 14-13 overall record. It marks just the second time in school history that Marywood produced back-to-back winning seasons.
