Marywood Soars Above Eagles

Pacers collect back-to-back shutout wins

Huntingdon, Pa. — The Marywood University field hockey team traveled out west to Juniata College on Saturday afternoon. The Pacers (4-4) took home the victory, by a score of 5-0 over the Eagles (1-7). 

The Pacers scored in the 9th minute when Brooke Barwick connected with Dariane Jones

Marywood and Juniata were in a stalemate until the Pacers scored four goals in the fourth period. 

Barwick scored a goal of her own in the 49th minute to put the Pacers ahead, 2-0. 

Emma Toth scored in the 50th minute. Lany Straub tallied the assist. 

Jones had her second goal of the day in the 51st minute. 

The Pacers' fifth goal came in the 55th minute, as Addison Marcin spotted Sophia Barilla who netted the ball into the back of the cage. 

Sabrina Frazer was in the goal for the Pacers recording a clean sheet in the shutout and making a save. 

Eagles keeper, Kara Stringfellow made four saves. 

Marywood had 17 penalty corner opportunities compared to Juniata's two. 

The Pacers outshot the Eagles, 14-1. 

Marywood will be hosting King's College, Saturday.
