Caroline Walters' Brace Races Pacers Past Greyhounds

Marywood beats Moravian for first time in three all-time meetings

Bethlehem, Pa. — Marywood University women's soccer senior Caroline Walters scored both goals in a 2-0 victory over Moravian University on Saturday. The Pacers earn their first win over the Greyhounds in three all-time meetings. 

Walters put the Pacers ahead in the 12th minute on an unassisted tally. She scored from 33 yards out.

She doubled Marywood's lead with her second unassisted goal in the 49th minute. Walters hit a set piece from 23 yards that dinged the crossbar and went into the net. 

Marywood edged the Greyhounds (0-3) by a 9-8 margin in shots. The Pacers had a 5-2 advantage in shots on target. 

The Pacers had eight corner kicks to Moravian's two. 

Genevieve Morrison notched a clean sheet with two saves. 

Marywood improves to 3-1 overall for the second straight season. The Pacers will host Stockton University on Saturday, Sept. 13 at noon.
