Second Half Surge Pushes Pacers Past Pratt

Hubbard tallies season-high 10 rebounds

Scranton, Pa. — The Marywood University women's basketball team continued Atlantic East Conference play on Saturday, hosting Pratt Institute. The Pacers (7-6, 2-0 AEC) overcame a halftime deficit to defeat the Cannoneers (1-9, 0-2 AEC), 58-46.  

Pratt grabbed an early lead, as they were up five after quarter one. 

The Cannoneers held the lead heading into the half, up 28-24. 

Marywood rallied in the third quarter, outscoring Pratt by ten, and grabbed a 42-36 lead. 

The Pacers kept up the intensity through the final quarter, coming away with the 58-46 victory. 

Marywood shot 20-66 (30.3 percent) in total on the day, going 4-28 (14.3 percent) from three and 14-16 (87.5 percent) from the charity stripe. 

Mia Blume led the Pacers with 15 points. 

The Cannoneers totaled 18-52 (34.6 percent) from the floor, 3-11 (27.3 percent) from beyond the arc, and 7-10 (70.0 percent) from the line. 

Pratt was led offensively by Kylie Grant and Anabela Jakelic, tallying 16 points each. 

Marywood controlled the boards, out-rebounding Pratt 52-30. 

Tamari Hubbard led the Pacers with 10 rebounds. 

Hubbard also led Marywood with four assists. 

Pratt's Emily Carlson grabbed a game-leading 11 boards. 

The Pacers will look to extend the win streak as they head to Gwynedd Mercy on Wednesday.
