Field Hockey, Women's Soccer Claim Atlantic East Team Academic Awards

Lancaster, Pa. — Marywood University led the Atlantic East Conference with a pair of Team Academic Awards in the 2025 fall season, officials announced Friday. Marywood is on pace to lead the conference in Team Academic Awards for the fifth consecutive year. 

The Women's Soccer and Field Hockey teams were the Atlantic East Conference Team Academic winners. 

The Team Academic honor is awarded to the institution's team that had the top GPA in its respective sport through the semester(s) it played in. The GPA is calculated for each season as follows:
  • Fall Season Teams (WSOC, MSOC, WVB, FH, WXC, MXC): Fall Semester Grades
  • Winter Season Teams (WBB, MBB, WSWIM, MSWIM): Cumulative of Fall and Spring Semester Grades
  • Spring Season Teams (MLAX, WLAX, BB, SB, WFLAG, MT&F, WT&F, MTEN, WTEN): Spring Semester Grades
Pratt Institute and Immaculata University tied Marywood with two Team Academic Awards. 

Women's Soccer claimed its second Atlantic East and fourth overall team academic award. The Pacers had a 3.68 GPA in the fall semester. Marywood previously won in 2022, in addition to two in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (2015, 2016).

Field Hockey won its first Atlantic East team academic award with a 3.48 GPA. It previously won a pair of CSAC Team Academic Awards in 2015 and 2016. 

Marywood has 57 Team Academic Awards since 2013-14. 

Marywood leads the Atlantic East with 37 Team Academic since the conference's incorporation in 2018-19. The Pacers lead Immaculata (33), Gwynedd Mercy (24), Neumann (15), Marymount (14), Cabrini (13), Pratt (4), Centenary (4), Cedar Crest (2), Wesley (1), Manhattanville (1), Gallaudet (1), and Penn State Schuylkill (1).

Only three institutions — Marywood, Pratt, Immaculata — earned AEC Team Academic Awards in the fall. 
  • Field Hockey: Marywood, 3.48
  • Men's Cross Country: Pratt, 3.61
  • Women's Cross Country: Pratt, 3.77
  • Men's Soccer: Immaculata, 3.59
  • Women's Soccer: Marywood, 3.68
  • Women's Volleyball: Immaculata, 3.58
