Field Hockey Outlasts Monarchs for First MAC Freedom Win

Scranton, Pa. — Freshman Phoebe Myers scored the game-winning goal to give Marywood University its first MAC Freedom victory. The Pacers upended King's College by a 1-0 score.

Myers scored the game-winning goal in the 39th minute. She took a deflection off the goalkeeper and fired into the cage for the lone goal.

It was Myers' second game-winning goal in a 1-0 game. She scored to give Marywood a decision over St. John Fisher on Oct. 3.

Sabrina Frazer made one save for her third shutout. The Monarchs' Tierney Hogan made 11 saves.

Marywood outshot the Monarchs 26-4 and 12-1 on cage. Both teams had eight penalty corners.

The Pacers will host Arcadia University at noon.
