Women's Lacrosse Races Past Macs for Sixth Straight Win

Danica Kelly ties career-high in points

East Whiteland Twp., Pa. — Marywood University women's lacrosse won its sixth consecutive game with a 24-6 victory over Immaculata University on Saturday. The Pacers opened their Atlantic East Conference schedule with a win. 

The Pacers matched their longest winning streak since the 2023 season. 

Avery Meighan led the Pacers with eight goals. She added four caused turnovers, four draw controls, and three ground balls. 

Kaitlyn Smith had a team-high nine points on four goals and five assists. She totaled three draw controls. 

Danica Kelly matched a season-high seven points on four goals and three assists. Natalie Yilanjian also scored four goals with an assist. 

Defensively, Felicia Pescatore caused three turnovers and picked up three ground balls. 

Jenna Scala made four saves in net for the win. 

Marywood outshot the Mighty Macs by a 38-11 margin with a 30-5 advantage in shots on goal. The Pacers were 7 for 8 in clear attempts. Both teams had 13 ground balls. Marywood won the draw control game 16-12. 

The Pacers opened the game with three goals in a 49-second span. Meighan scored twice, sandwiching a Kelly tally. 

Leading 4-2, Marywood scored seven straight goals heading into the second quarter. Kelly's unassisted goal 14 seconds into the second half gave Marywood an 11-2 lead. 

Meighan set the running clock at the 10:46 mark of the second quarter. 

Marywood went on a run of eight straight goals in the second half. 

The Pacers are idle until after the Easter break. Marywood will next host Gwynedd Mercy University on Wednesday, April 8.
