Montclair, N.J.- The Marywood University men's lacrosse team concluded its nonconference schedule with a 15-9 loss at Montclair State University Wednesday evening.

The Pacers (5-7) showed early sharpness, matching the Red Hawks goal-for-goal in a fast-paced first quarter that featured multiple momentum swings.

After falling behind 4-2 midway through the period, Marywood responded with a three-goal run, highlighted by two tallies from Ben Meighan, to take a 5-4 lead. Montclair State answered in the final minute to send the game into the second quarter tied at five.

The game turned in the second quarter as Montclair State began to generate sustained offensive pressure. Despite a tying goal from Meighan at 6-6, the Red Hawks closed the half on a 2-0 run to take an 8-6 advantage into the break.

Montclair State seized control in the third quarter, outscoring Marywood 6-1. Ryan Vierbuchen led the surge, scoring multiple times during the stretch as the Red Hawks built a commanding lead. Montclair State's offense was relentless, finishing with 48 shots compared to 29 for the Pacers.

Marywood attempted to rally in the fourth quarter with goals from Votra and Strobel, but the deficit proved too large to overcome.

Goalkeeper Colin Trainor made 13 saves in the effort.
