Field Hockey Rallies to Upend Macs in Final Minute

East Whiteland Twp., Pa. — Brooke Barwick scored a last-minute game-winning goal to put Marywood University on top of Immaculata University 3-2 in a rematch of last year's conference championship field hockey game. It was the Pacers' sixth straight win over the Mighty Macs and their 17th in the past 18 meetings.

On a penalty corner chance, Barwick and Olivia Seidel passed back and forth to each other at the top of the circle. Barwick collected Seidel's return pass and fired a 15-yard shot to the right corner of the cage.

Barwick finished with a goal and an assist.

Marywood came back from a 2-1 deficit in the fourth quarter. Amelia Niven evened the score in the 50th minute. Her second career goal came via a Barwick assist.

Whitney Berge converted a penalty stroke in the 12th minute to tie the score at 1-1.

Immaculata took an early lead in the 10th lead from a Maria Berenato score. Less than three minutes into the second half, Morgan Barnes scored an unassisted goal to take a 2-1 advantage.

Sabrina Frazer made two saves for the victory. Mackenzie Schrack had eight saves.

Marywood (2-2) tripled the Mighty Macs 18-6 in shots with an 11-4 advantage in shots on target. The Pacers topped Immaculata 11-2 in penalty corners.

The Pacers welcome Keuka College on Thursday at 4 p.m.
