Marywood took an early lead in the opening set after falling behind 4-2. The Pacers rattled off seven consecutive points, highlighted by a service ace from Catie Woolf and three kills from Carolina Samaniego.

Arcadia answered with a 6-0 run of its own to pull within two before Marywood regained its footing.

The Pacers extended their lead to 18-13 and later held a 24-18 advantage following back-to-back kills from Genevieve Pollock. Arcadia fought back to make it 24-23, but the Knights committed a service error which allowed the Pacers to take the opening set.

Neither team was able to create much separation from there, with the score eventually tied at 18 and 21, respectively. Arcadia carried that momentum into the third set. Marywood held an early 8-4 advantage and led 15-13 midway through the frame, but the Knights answered with a 7-0 run that turned a 19-17 Marywood lead into a 24-19 Arcadia advantage. The Knights eventually closed out the set to move in front 2-1.

Facing elimination in the fourth set, Marywood once again showed its resilience. The Pacers trailed 14-10 before battling back to tie the score. Arcadia later took a 22-18 lead, but Marywood responded with a 6-0 run. After Arcadia tied the set at 24, the Pacers got an Arcadia attack error and then a service ace from Gracee Work to secure the fourth set victory and force a decisive fifth.

Marywood scored the opening point of the fifth set on an Ayla Bransford service ace, but Arcadia quickly responded. The Knights built a 7-2 lead before the Pacers began to chip away. Marywood closed within two at 10-8 and later pulled within one at 11-10 following consecutive Arcadia errors. The Knights, however, scored four of the final six points to claim the set and match.
