John Masten was named the head men's tennis coach at Marywood University in the fall of 2019. Masten previously spent three years as the head men's and women's tennis at Keystone College.Â
Masten coached the Giants' men's tennis team to the 2019 Colonial States Athletic Conference championships. He coached the CSAC's 2019 Women's Tennis Player of the Year.Â
An Honorable Mention All-CSAC singles player as a sophomore at Keystone, Masten was also honored as a CSAC All-Sportsmanship Team selection as a junior and was a CSAC All-Academic Team honoree as a freshman. He finished his career tied for the eighth-most overall wins and sits seventh all-time in overall conference wins. Masten also ranks seventh all-time in singles wins – both overall and conference – in a career and also sits in the top-10 for overall singles wins in a season, conference singles wins in a season, career overall doubles wins, and career conference doubles wins.

Masten served as a tennis Instructor at the Delaware Youth Center for three years where he provides basic and advanced training as well as teaching rules of the sport to youngsters while developing their leadership skills. He has also been a sports counselor, camp leader, and lifeguard at the Delaware Youth Center for four years. Masten has been active in local communities as well, coaching youth basketball and soccer while volunteering for the Red Cross and serving on the Youngsville Environmental Committee.Â

Masten, who competed for the Giants’ track & field team for two seasons, graduated from Keystone in May of 2016 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business with a minor in Sport Management.Â
