Zack Haney

Zack Haney was named the Aquatic Director/Head Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Coach at Marywood University in November 2018 after serving as Assistant Coach since the previous spring. Haney came to Marywood after serving as the head boys and girls Swimming and Diving coach at Abington Heights High School in nearby Clarks Summit the previous two years. 
 
During his tenure with the Comets, Haney coached both swimmers and divers including several PIAA District II champions, PIAA state qualifiers, Abington Heights school record holders and Scranton All-Region team nominees.
 
Haney has also served as a coach for the Marywood Pacers Aquatics Club from 2015-2017 and the Abington Gators Swim Team from 2014-2018.  Prior to moving to Scranton, he served as a coach for the Lewisburg Gators Swim Team in Lewisburg from 2009-2014, leading the team to multiple SVSDL league championships, including several individual event champions.
 
Haney is also a certified coach for both USA Swimming and the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association.
 
Haney is a 2015 graduate of Marywood where he earned a degree in Financial Planning. He was a member of the Swimming and Diving team from 2013-2015, serving as captain his senior year. During his career as a mid-distance freestyle and IM swimmer, he held team records in five individual events and was part of three record setting relays.  He was an eight-time individual finalist and, in 2015, earned Landmark All-Conference recognition for runner-up finishes in the 200 Freestyle and 200 Freestyle relay. In 2015, he was also named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District team, the first male athlete from Marywood to earn the honor in the at-large category. Haney was also a member of the Men’s Tennis team.
 
Prior to college, Haney swam for Danville High School and the Sunbury YMCA. With the Ironmen, he was a two time District IV champion and four time PIAA State Championship qualifier. He was also the record holder in the 200 Freestyle. As part of the SUNY Dolphins, Haney was a four-time YMCA National Championship qualifier.
 
Haney obtained his Masters Degree in Communication Arts at Marywood.
