Ashleen Speen

Ashleen Speen joined the Marywood University women’s volleyball coaching staff as an assistant coach in January 2025.

Speen arrives in Scranton after spending two years as an assistant coach at Keystone College where she helped guide the Giants to back-to-back conference playoff appearances. During her tenure, Keystone advanced to the divisional semifinals in 2023.

Prior to Keystone, Speen served as the head coach at SUNY Broome in 2021, leading the Hornets to both conference and regional championships and a fourth place finish at the national tournament. Her success earned her multiple Coach of the Year honors, including recognition from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).

Speen previously spent four seasons as an assistant coach at SUNY Broome from 2016–20. During that stretch, the Hornets captured two conference championships, a regional title, and finished ninth nationally. In addition to her collegiate coaching experience, Speen also coaches with Whirlwind Volleyball Club in Owego, N.Y.

A former standout student athlete, Speen played two seasons at SUNY Broome, earning conference Player of the Year honors, before continuing her career at Buffalo State.
