Wilkes-Barre, PA - Marywood University's men's and women's swimming and diving teams split their dual meet with King's College as the men were 193-60 victors but the women fell to the Monarchs by a score of 145-115.  The men improved to 3-1 on the year with their only setback coming against Division I Manhattan while the women now stand at 2-2.

The Monarchs' 200 yard medley relay women's team took the opening heat of the meet, finishing in 1:58.70 to best Marywood's team of Tricia Caiati, Hailey Moorehead, Shanna Carwell and Kayleigh Velott who came in six seconds later at 2:04.91.

Marywood's men's 200 medley relay team of Zack Haney, Chard Howley, Bryon Scholl and Anthony Pisano won their event in 1:45.82, finishing just under two seconds ahead of King's (1:47.30).

In the women's 1000 free, Caroline Fitch (11:53.79) beat Marywood's Carwell by 10 seconds (12:03.55) while Jason Beabout (10:37.19) and Eddie Sanborn III (10:49.80) finished one-two in the men's 1000. 

Marywood finished first, second and third in the men's 200 free as Haney won in 1:50.87, Joseph Buderwitz came in second in 1:56.34 and Alex Martino third in 2:01.07.

In the men's 50 backstroke, Daniel Adams won in 26.26 while Scholl won the 100 butterfly for the Pacers in 57.37.
Adams also won the 100 free for the men in 50.58 while Blake Burlingame came in third with a 53.22.  Adams would later win the 50 butterfly in 25.24.

Val Barlow won the women's 50 free in 27.20 to edge teammate Julissa Quezada (27.24).  Pisano (22.93) and Burlington (23.04) came in first and second in the men's 50 free.

In the women's 100 breaststroke, Kim Petersen took first with a 1:14.05 to edge Rachel Jonas of King's by just over a second.  Moorehead finished third in 1:16.14. 

In the closest finish of the night, Virginia Cobb picked up a win in the 500 free for Marywood by touching in 5:47.30 to win a nail-biter over Fitch (5:47.55). 

Beabout, Buderwitz and Martino finished 1-3 in the men's 500 while Haney won the 400 IM in 4:31.39. 

To close the meet, Marywood won both the women's (1:48.19) and men's (1:30.19) 200 free relay.

Marywood returns to the pool November 1 when they open Landmark Conference action against the Catholic University of America.  The meet will start at 1:00 pm in Scranton.
