Scranton, PA – Marywood University opened its 2014 women's lacrosse campaign with a 12-4 loss to Arcadia University Saturday at Pacers Turf Field. The Pacers welcomed the head coaching debut of Katie Tutak in a game that was moved from Glenside, Pa. because of snow-consumed turf conditions.

Arcadia scored the first 10 goals of the game thanks to a dominant performance by Erin Misner. Misner scored six goals and an assist for seven points.

After Misner scored her sixth to enact the running clock, Kimberly Commisso ended the shutout chance and pegged the first goal of the Tutak era. Commisso turned on a Natalie Burke pass for a man-up score with 10:28 remaining. Less than two minutes later, Sarah Caughy bounced a free-position shot past goalkeeper Jordyn Dunacusky to cut the Arcadia lead to 10-2.

Arcadia responded 36 seconds with the first of two consecutive goals on a Catherine Brown free-position shot on the other end. Misner tallied her sixth to make it a ten-goal lead in a matter of 17 seconds.

Marywood put two more scores through in the final two minutes. Kathy DiGiacomo one-timed a Burke pass from behind the net at 1:29 remaining. Twenty-six seconds later, Commisso produced her second on a free-position shot.

Commisso finished with two goals, three draw controls and three caused turnovers. Burke made her Pacer debut with two assists. Mary Ninivaggi made an impact defensively with a game-high eight ground balls and three caused turnovers.

Arcadia's Jaclyn Fetter scored two goals and two assists for four points. Jenna Crothers added a goal and two assists for three.

Marywood returns to the turf Tuesday to host Hartwick College at 5:00 pm. The Pacers will play at home against on Thursday against Mount St. Mary (N.Y.) College.
