Men's Soccer Falls Short 2-1 at Keystone

La Plume, Pa. – A late goal ended Marywood University's four-game winning streak in a 2-1 loss to rival Keystone College Tuesday in Colonial States Athletic Conference men's soccer action. The Pacers (7-6, 4-3 CSAC) remain in fifth place in the conference standings with a six-point advantage over Immaculata and Cairn.

Carlos Bonilla scored both of the Giants' goals. He netted the game-winning goal in the 73rd minute. Ibrahim Tounkara played a give-and-go that put Bonilla in behind Marywood's defense. Bonilla lofted a shot over Pacers' goalkeeper Michael Mejia for the 2-1 advantage.

Trailing by one, Daniel Gallagher added his first goal of the season in the 44th minute. With just 1:52 remaining in the first half, Gallagher knocked in a rebound following Dylan McMahon's initial shot that was saved by Keystone keeper Malcolm Moreira. It was McMahon's first helper of the season.

Bonilla gave the Giants the early lead in the 13th minute. Bonilla received a feed in the box from Talhah Netherlin and blasted a shot from 16 yards into the far-side net.

Alex Buchholz nearly put the Pacers in position to send the game to overtime in the 87th minute. Buccholz attempt at an equalizer got past the keeper but was cleared at the goal line by Matthew Sim for a frantic finish to the end of the game.

Keystone outshot the Pacers by an 18-15 margin and a 9-6 edge on target. Mejia made seven saves and Moreira stopped four. The Giants topped the Pacers 6-2 in corners.

Marywood faces Cabrini University on the road on Saturday.
