Heyen Sparks Pacers in CSAC Win over Gwynedd Mercy

Scranton, Pa. – Annie Heyen neared a triple-double to lead Marywood University to a three-set win over Gwynedd Mercy University Wednesday in Colonial States Athletic Conference volleyball action. The Pacers (6-15, 5-2 CSAC) move up to fourth place in the conference standings.

Heyen finished with eight aces, 22 assists and 11 digs. Her serving game produced the fourth-most aces in a single match in modern-day program history.

Marywood defeated Gwynedd Mercy by scores of 25-10, 25-17, 25-12.

Sam Compton led the team with 11 kills and eight digs. With just two errors on 21 attempts, she finished the match with a .429 attack percentage.

Peri Sheerin totaled nine kills and a .308 attack percentage. Gabriella Santos tallied seven kills.

Jordan Vossler led the defensive front with 12 digs.

Katie Billelo and Santos each garnered four aces. As a team, Marywood recorded 16 aces.

For Gwynedd Mercy, Kerry McGlinn notched 12 assists and Cait Saalfrank produced 13 digs.

The Pacers shot .338 for the match to the Griffins' minus-.099.

Marywood has a short turnaround with a tri-match Thursday night at Clarks Summit and against Bryn Mawr.
