Early Knights' Goal Pegs Pacers with No. 5 Seed in Playoffs

Scranton, Pa. – A second minute goal was all that was needed for Neumann University to surpass Marywood University in the Colonial States Athletic Conference men's soccer playoff picture in the Pacers' 1-0 loss on Tuesday night. Neumann takes the No. 4 seed and will host fifth-seeded Marywood in the CSAC First Round on Halloween.

The Pacers complete their CSAC campaign with 15 points and a 5-4 conference record.

Eighty-four seconds into regulation, Neumann scored the lone goal directly off of a corner kick. Jake McDevitt placed his delivery squarely on the head of Jack Norwood in the middle of the box.

Marywood fought back despite being down to 10 men for the final 33 minutes.

In the 67th minute, Dylan McMahon hit the crossbar on a set piece play from 20 yards out.

Joseph Kabwe had a chance on a loose ball in the 89th minute. Kabwe's shot just sailed high of the crossbar.

Marywood will honor its seniors Saturday when it hosts Alvernia University at 1:00 pm.
