Swimming & Diving Falls to Catholic in Landmark Opener

Washington, D.C. – The Marywood University men's and women's swimming and diving fell to The Catholic University of America on Sunday in their first conference meet of the season. The women's team lost to Catholic in a close 165-126 meet, while the men's team fell by a 222-73 score.
 
For the women, Mia Nardone finished first in both the 200 fly (2:23.98) and 200 IM (2:24.58). Virginia Cobb swept both distance events, winning the 200 free with a time of 2:04.04 and the 500 free in 5:40.91.
 
Julia Randolph and Christine Llewellyn finished in first and second, respectively, in the 200-yard Backstroke. Randolph won the even by more than three seconds in 2:22.39. Llewellyn finished in first in the 1000 free with a time of 11:44.77. On the springboard, Courtney Snyder and Maxine Carrion took the top two spots in both diving events. Snyder claimed first with a 210.53 on the 1-meter, and scored a 183.15 on the 3-meter for first place. 
 
On the men's side, Nicholas Dubinski won his first Landmark Conference meet by winning a pair of events. He claimed the 100 free with a time of 1:03.55 and led the 200 breast field in 2:23.65. Michael Freeman joined him on top of the podium in the 200 butterfly in 2:20.04, outracing the Cardinals by 1.5 seconds. 

The Pacers will be back in action when they host a Landmark tri-match with Susquehanna University and Drew University on Saturday.
