Offense Returns in Women's Soccer Rout of Rosemont

Scranton, Pa. - Marywood University got goals from eight different players as the Pacers routed visiting Rosemont College 8-0 in CSAC women's soccer action Wednesday evening in Scranton. Marywood leveled their overall mark at 5-5 while improving to 5-1 in league play.

Rosemont fell to 3-8 (1-4 CSAC) with the loss.

Julie Youngman opened the scoring for Marywood in the fourth minute with her team-best ninth of the year, taking a feed from Aly Barlok down the left flank and beating the keeper from 10 yards out.

Renea Moken then got involved in the next three goals for Marywood, scoring unassisted at the 12:55 mark on a breakaway and assisting on Marywood's next two goals. Just fiffteen seconds after her own goal, the Pacers intercepted the Ravens' kickoff and Moken fed Megan Swiecicki as the Pacers recorded the fastest back-to-back goals in program history.

Just 10 minutes later, Moken found Emily Kotcho on the right corner of the 18 and the senior back notched her fifth goal of the year, sending the ball to the far left upper 90.

With just under 10 left in the half, Jackie VonItter scored her second of the season off a long cross from Ashley Kruchinsky.  Four minutes later Shea Olszewski one-timed a cross from Moken to put the Pacers up 6-0.  Marywood added one more in the first as Kruchinsky scored her fourth of the year off a feed from Olszewski.

Cara Romaniello closed the Pacers' scoring on the day midway through the second as she scored unassisted from nine yards out after collecting a loose ball on top of the box and beating a defender.

Marywood outshot the visitors 31-7 (17-2 on goal).  Aly Moyer made one save in the first half while Bella DiToma (22:48) and Haley Taylor (22:12, one save) preserved the shutout win for the Pacers.  Rosemont keeper Teagan Dawson made a game high nine stops for the Ravens.

Marywood travels to Immaculata Saturday for a 1:00 pm CSAC tilt.
