Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Marywood Drops Immaculata, 5-0

Immaculata, Pa. – Marywood University scored two first half goals and then added three in the final 10 minutes of action as the Pacers defeated host Immaculata University 5-0 in CSAC women's soccer action Saturday afternoon on the road.

Marywood (6-5, 6-1 CSAC) got goals from five different players, as they did from eight different players in their win over Rosemont mid-week.  Renae Moken, Shea Olszewski, Aly Barlok, Megan Swiecicki and Jackie VonItter all tallied goals for the Pacers while Julie Youngman had two assists. Moken and Desi Rill each had assists as well.

Immaculata fell to 4-5-2 (4-2 CSAC) with the loss.

Moken got the eventual game-winner in the 12th minute of play, tapping in a corner kick from Youngman that made its way across the goalmouth.

Despite a couple decent scoring chances for each team, the rest of the first half would play scoreless until the 35th minute. Just 10 seconds after entering the game, Olszewski pounced on a loose ball in the box and put it home to double the Pacers' lead.

Controlling much of the second half, Marywood did not put the game out of reach until there were 10 minutes remaining. That's when a barrage of Pacer goals put the game away.

Barlok turned into a Youngman corner kick on the goal line to put Marywood up 3-0 at the 80:08 mark.  Two minutes later, a nice set of passes down the left flank and into the middle allowed Rill to find Swiecicki in the box, who calmly slipped past one defender before beating Immaculata's keeper to make it 4-0.

Again two minutes later, VonItter closed the scoring as she took a feed from Moken and lofted one over the keeper to make it 5-0.

Aly Moyer made seven stops to earn the shutout in net.  Moyer made several nice stops on breakaway attempts and made a great goal-line reaction save off an Immaculata corner that was redirected on frame.

Marywood outshot the hosts 19-8 (14-7 on goal) which included a 12-4 advantage in the second half.  The Pacers had seven corners while the Mighty Macs had two.

Marywood travels to Elmira College Wednesday for a 3:30 pm non-conference matchup with the Soaring Eagles.
