Volleyball Comeback Falls Short in Four to Colonels

Wilkes-Barre, Pa. - The Marywood University volleyball team fell 3-1 to Wilkes University Monday in a non-conference match. The Colonels ousted the Pacers by scores of 25-20, 25-19, 21-25, 25-21.

Marywood falls to 5-14 overall, while Wilkes advances to 7-15. 

Peri Sheerin finished with a match-high 18 kills with a .178 attack percentage. Sam Compton posted a double-double with 11 kills and 12 digs. 

The Pacers had five players in double figures defensively. Annie Heyen led the team with 15 digs to go with her 32 assists. Jordan Vossler finished with 13 digs. Brenna Kelley had a dozen digs, and Katie Bilello recorded 10. 

Marywood shot .159 as a team. The service game was instrumental for Wilkes. The Colonels had 12 aces to the Pacers' four. 

Alexis Morgan provided the Colonels with 43 assists. Juliet Bitke generated 17 digs. Jamey Mikovich tallied 15 digs and 13 kills, and Madison Scarfaro had a team-high 16 kills. 

The Pacers seek to improve upon their CSAC standing with a match versus Neumann University at home Thursday at 7:00 pm.
