Men's Soccer Falters in Second Half to Skidmore

Pacers Hold Thoroughbreds Scoreless in First Half

Saratoga Springs, N.Y. - Marywood University kept Skidmore College scoreless for 47 minutes before letting three in goal Friday in the men's soccer season opener. The Thoroughbreds topped the Pacers 3-0 and held them without a shot for the second half.

Kevin Santos had a hand in all three Thoroughbred scores with a goal and two assists.

Skidmore ended the scoreless drought in the 48th minute when Brennan Mitrolka made the best of a feed inside of the box.

Two minutes later, Santos headed an Inigo Ugarte cross into the high part of the net to go ahead by two goals.

In the 84th, he fed a low pass to Augustine Okoye who went low on the keeper to punctuate the victory.

Michael Mejia made five saves in his first collegiate appearance in net.

Both of the Pacers' shots came within two minutes of each other. Zac Lloyds' shot off of a corner kick and Tom Cuffari's strike were both sent away from Skidmore's Sebastian Bosch.

Skidmore outshot Marywood 15-2 and 8-2 on goal. Marywood held onto a 6-5 advantage in corner kicks.

Dawson Driscoll's squad travels to Edwardsville Sunday to take on Wilkes.
