Volleyball Comes Up Empty Against Cougars, Golden Wolves

All three sets the Pacers lost to Misericordia were by three or fewer points

Dallas, Pa. – Marywood University nearly pulled off a huge upset in a tight contest to open up the Misericordia Tri-Match on Friday. The Pacers fell in four sets to the host Cougars and in three sets to Alvernia.

The Pacers came up short to Misericordia by scores of 25-22, 17-25, 25-22, 30-28. The Pacers did not fare as well against the Golden Wolves in a 25-20, 25-11, 25-19 loss.

Against the Cougars, Sam Compton led the Pacers with nine kills, 13 digs, and a .138 attack percentage. Annie Heyen contributed 29 assists. Peri Sheerin reached double figures with 10 kills.

Defensively, Jordan Vossler provided 11 digs. Mikayla Attwood had five block assists.

Services were detrimental to the Pacers. Marywood committed 18 service errors and had 11 receiving errors.

Against the Golden Wolves, Compton had nine kills and 10 digs. Brenna Kelly had nine digs, and Annie Heyen produced 18 assists.

Gabriella Santos had four aces in each match.

Marywood takes a week off before heading cross town to face John Jay College and the University of Scranton in a tri-match.
