Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Pacers Rout Cairn in CSAC Opener

Scranton, Pa. - Julie Youngman had three goals and an assist while seven different Pacers scored as Marywood's women's soccer team routed Cairn University 9-0 in the CSAC opener for both schools.  Renae Moken added a goal and two assists as Marywood got their first win of the year to improve to 1-4 overall (1-0 CSAC).

The defending conference champions wasted little time Saturday as Megan Swiecicki scored just :43 into the game by tapping in a Youngman shot that was saved.  Nearly eight minutes later the Pacers doubled their lead as Emily Kotcho took a ball served from Swiecicki on the right and put it home to make it 2-0.

Marywood got three more first half goals, first from Youngman in the 24th minute on a feed from Moken and then from Ashley Kruchinsky (Carley Sliwka, Aly Moyer double assist) in the 35th minute and from Shea Olszewski (Moken) in the 43rd minute.

Moken notched her second goal of the season 1:05 into the second off a feed from Kotcho.  Youngman then tallied back-to-back goals in the 51st and 58th minutes off assists from Kotcho and Carissa Novelli.

Molly Sobolewski then came up from the back line for a Becca Dolgas corner and ripped home a shot from 14 yards out in the 73rd minute to close the scoring.

In all, Marywood outshot the visitors 48-1 (28-0 on goal) as Moyer and the Pacers' defense picked up their first clean slate of 2017.

Marywood's 10 assists on the day shatter the old record of six that was set numerous times throughout program history.

Marywood travels to Allentown Wednesday to take on Cedar Crest College (4-2, 0-0 CSAC) at 7:00 pm.
