Youngman, Moken Lead Pacers to Second Straight Win

Allentown, Pa. - Julie Youngman had her second straight hat-trick and Renae Moken added a goal and two assists as Marywood University blanked host Cedar Crest College 5-0 in Colonial States Athletic Conference women's soccer action Wednesday night.

It was the Pacers' (2-4, 2-0 CSAC) second straight clean sheet as well  Cedar Creste fell to 4-3 (0-1 CSAC) with the loss.

Despite the lopsided final score, the game was tight throughout much of the first half - at least on the scoreboard.  Marywood held a commanding 21-0 lead in shots in the opening half, but only led 1-0 until the final moments of the half.

Youngman got the Pacers on the board early, scoring 7:19 into the contest by following a Moken shot that was saved.  The duo repeated that feat in the 40th minute to double Marywood's lead, and Moken closed the first half scoring in the 42nd minute with a rip from the top of the 18 off a feed from Megan Swiecicki.

Desi Rill quickly put the game away in the second half as she scored 1:19 in on another assist from Moken.  Youngman completed her second straight hat-trick in the 59th minute when she took Aly Barlok's through ball and slotted the Cedar Crest keeper to make it 5-0.

For the game, Marywood had a 36-4 advantage of shots, placing 21 of those on frame.  The Falcons' Morgan Maddock had a spectacular showing in goal, making 16 stops to keep the hosts in the game until late.

Cedar Crest's best scoring chance came in the final minute of the game as a direct kick was tipped by Marywood keeper Bella DiToma into the crossbar and down.  It appeared the ball may have crossed the goalline but the Assistant Referee never called the goal.

Marywood starter Aly Moyer played 80-plus scoreless minutes and made three saves. DiToma had the other Marywood save on Cedar Crest's final effort.

Marywood looks for their third straight win after starting the season 0-4 this Saturday when they host Clarks Summit University at 12:00 pm on "Family Day."
