Women's Soccer Remains Unbeaten in CSAC Play

Scranton, Pa. - Marywood University cruised past Clarks Summit University 8-0 in CSAC women's soccer play Saturday as the Pacers remained unbeaten in the league (3-0) while improving to 3-4 overall.  The Pacers got a hat-trick and assist from Renae Moken while five other Pacers scored as well.

Moken's triple came in the opening 27 minutes of the game.  She scored twice in the first 10 minutes, scoring first at the 8:52 mark off an assist from Molly Sobolewski and then at the 9:43 mark off a feed from Aly Barlok.

Emily Kotcho then got in on the scoring in the 20th minute by finishing a drop back pass from Moken, and Megan Swiecicki scored unassisted 21 seconds later to make it 4-0 in favor of Marywood.

Marywood added three more first half goals, the next two of which would be assisted by Julie Youngman. First, Moken completed her hat-trick at 26:38 and then Ashley Kruchinsky scored in the 30th minute.  Madison Daches closed the first half scoring with a rip from the top of the 18 that was sent back by Cara Romaniello.

Michaela Smith's cross at the 61:00 mark got by the CSU goalkeeper and was an easy finish for Grace Feeser, who put home her first collegiate goal.

Marywood outshot the visitors 33-2 (12-1 on goal) on the day and had 11 corners to none for the Defenders. Aly Moyer made one save in the first half while Bella DiToma and Haley Taylor split time in the second half.

Marywood travels to Hackettstown, New Jersey Tuesday to take on fellow CSAC unbeaten Centenary University (5-1, 3-0 CSAC) in a rematch of 2016's conference title game.
