Match Recap: Women's Tennis |

Women's Tennis Falls to Scranton, 9-0

Scranton Pa. - Marywood's women's tennis team (0-2) fell today to The University of Scranton (4-0) in a tough 9-0 loss. Scranton traveled to the Pacers for this non-conference matchup. 

Scranton got things started right away in doubles play with two out of three victories being 8-1. The pair of Emilia Jakubek and Tatiana Klacko defeated Nicole Sinclair and Emily Zarrilla 8-2 in the second doubles match.

Scranton continued their success in singles competition. Nastashia DeNunzio beat Danielle Ogonowski in the first set of singles (6-0, 6-1). Marywood's Abygail Doud and Emily Zarrille both lost tight matches in the second and fourth rounds of singles. Doud fell to Scranton's Emilia Jakubek (6-3, 6-1). Zarrilla gave Sakira Fussner a challenge 6-4 in the first set and 6-1 in the second. 

The Pacers will be home this weekend on Sunday September 24th against Kings College. The match will start at 1:30 pm.
