Marywood Survives Defensive Struggle against Albright

Scranton, Pa. – Marywood University men's soccer evened its record with a 1-0 victory over Albright College on Saturday night. The Pacers begin their Colonial States Athletic Conference schedule on Wednesday.

Zac Lloyd scored the game-winning goal from Cole Belcher in the 80th minute. On a long ball served down the left sideline, Belcher one-passed it to Lloyd down the sideline. Lloyd touched the ball, used a spin move to avoid a pair of Lions, and shelved the shot into the upper-left corner of goal.

Albright outshot Marywood by a 12-8 clip; however, the Pacers held on to a 4-1 advantage in shots on goal. Marywood had a 4-3 edge in corner kicks.

Michael Mejia notched his second clean sheet of the year with just one save.

The Pacers open their CSAC slate at defending champion Centenary University on Wednesday.
