Pacers Open CSAC Slate with 4-0 Loss to Cabrini

Scranton, Pa. – Marywood University opened its Colonial States Athletic Conference field hockey schedule with a 4-0 loss to Cabrini University on Saturday at home. The Cavaliers scored three goals in a four-minute span to take control of the game in the early going.

Cabrini opened with a goal in the ninth minute when Maddy Worley redirected a cross pass into the cage. Three minutes later, Sara Johnsen made the best of a Brittany Smith penalty corner serve to double the Cavs' lead. Worley hit the cage again 62 seconds later by punching a ball following a scramble in front of the goal line.

Jackie Neary rounded out the Cabrini scoring in the opening minutes of the second half. Neary chipped a Katie Kucia feed past the Marywood goalkeeper.

Marywood managed just three shots, two of which came off the stick of Liz Ferg. Kerri Mountz made a dozen saves for the Pacers.

The Pacers look to get back into the win column this week when they travel to Neumann on Tuesday and host Notre Dame Maryland on Saturday.
