Men's Basketball Drops Road Contest at Cabrini

Radnor, Pa. - Cabrini University extended their win streak to six games as the host Cavaliers dealt Marywood University a 93-66 loss Thursday evening in Radnor.  Cabrini improved to 11-2 (6-1 CSAC) with the win while Marywood fell to 8-5 (3-4).

Cabrini broke open a tight game at the half (43-39) with a dominate second half.  DJ Smith led four Cavaliers in double digits with a game high 26.  Smith was 8-of-13 from the floor and his 26 points was a career best.

Marywood was led by Jeremy Ringland's 22 and 20 from Thomas Swartz.

Cabrini hit 50% of their shots from the floor and Marywood was over 49%. But from beyond the arc, the Cavaliers hit over 46% while limiting Marywood to 27.8%.  Both teams grabbed 35 boards.

In a tight first half, after Marywood led 22-21 the hosts grabbed the lead and never relinquished it. A three from Swartz with two seconds left in the stanza cut the Pacers' deficit to just four at the break. But after the half, the Cavaliers opened with a 8-0 run and never looked back.

Marywood is back in action Saturday when they travel to Immaculata University for a 3:00 pm game against the Mighty Macs.
