Pacers Swimming Sweeps Goucher at Home

Scranton, Pa – Marywood University's men's and women's swim teams both defeated the Goucher College Gophers at home Saturday in a Landmark Conference meet. The men won by a 134-89 team score, while the women beat the Gophers by a team score of 138-121.

The Pacers saw success today in a variety of events. Marywood's 200 men's medley relay team of Jared Lubarsky, Nick Dubinski, WesleyYancey, and Blake Burlingame took first, touching in at 1:44.04. Burlingame, Yancey, and Dubinski finished in the top three in the 50 free, respectfully.

On the women's side, Christine Llewellyn finished in first in the 200 free. Llewellyn touched in with an impressive 2:06.45.

Mia Nardone and Sam Truter placed in the top two in the 200 back. Nardone finished with a 2:21.56, and Truter registered a 2:30.59.

In the 200 fly, Seychelle Duckworth touched in at 2:34.70, placing her in first just ahead of teammate Courtney Paulus, who finished with a 2:39.23.

Other top finishers for the Pacers were Michael Freeman and Yancey, who finished in the top two in the men's 200 free. Nardone took first in the 100 back, coming in a few seconds ahead of her teammate Julia Randolph. Nardone finished with a 1:04.82, and Randolph clocked in with a 1:08.18.

There was no diving competition.

Marywood will be back in action Friday at home for senior night. The Pacers will take on University of Scranton and Misericordia University in a tri-match.
