Marywood Picks up Big Win at Keystone, 66-61 in OT

LaPlame, Pa. - For the second time this year Marywood University's men's basketball team rallied from a halftime deficit to defeat Keystone College. This time, the Pacers (11-7, 6-6 CSAC) did so on the road in LaPlume, downing the Giants 66-61 in overtime.

Marywood got a game high 20 point from Jeremy Ringland, who led four Pacers in double digits. All of Ringland's 20 came in the second half and overtime.

Up 16-11 early, the Pacers went on a dry spell and trailed the Giants 29-18 at the break.  A second half surge saw the Pacers outscore the hosts (7-10, 6-5) 34-25.  With the score knotted at 53-53, Marywood had two chances to win in regulation, but a jumper from Thomas Swartz was short and a tip-in from Ringland rattled off the rim as the two teams went to overtime.

There, Marywood outscored Keystone 14-8, mainly on the charity stripe, to even their conference record at .500 and remain in the thick of the playoff hunt.

Swartz had 14 for the night and was 5-of-6 on the free throw line. James Curley added 12 and Dovan Catchings had 10 to help Marywood to their 11th win of the season.

Neither team shot well from long range on the night with Marywood hitting 33.3% of their threes and Keystone only managing 21.4%.  Marywood was above 40% (41.1) from the floor though, while holding the hosts to 32.8% shooting.

Marywood hosts Rosemont Saturday at 2:00 pm on Hall of Fame day.  The Marywood Athletic Department will honor former men's tennis coach Dr. Art Comstock, former men's tennis player Albert Stroble, and former softball standout Megan Haikes at a brunch in the morning and again at halftime of the basketball game.
