Neumann Controls Pacers in CSAC Win

Scranton, Pa. - Neumann University used a 15-0 run to start the game and a balanced scoring attack throughout to down host Marywood University 84-64 in CSAC men's basketball action Wednesday night at the Insalaco Arena.  The Pacers, who got a game high 21 from Thomas Swartz, fell to 11-9 and 6-8 in the league. 

Neumann moved to 16-4 (11-3) thanks to five players in double digits.  Billy Cassidy and Tyaire Hudson each had 15, Aaron Johnson-Chavis had 14 and Raquan Brown-Johnson and Jordan Collins each added 12.

The Knights shot 57.7% from the floor for the game and at a 61.5% clip in the first half.  

Neumann outscored Marywood 18-6 in the paint in the opening stanza and turned 11 Marywood miscues into 14 points off turnovers.  

Jeremy Ringland added 14 points for the Pacers while Tone Crockwell was 3-for-4 from three point range for 12 points.  Crockwell added five assists for the Pacers.

Marywood held a slight 38-34 rebounding advantage in the game.

Marywood travels to York College (N.Y.) Saturday for the CUNYAC-CSAC Challenge. The Pacers will tip-off in Jamaica at 3:00 pm.
