Field Hockey Picks Up First Atlantic East Win

Immaculata, Pa. - Marywood University earned their first Atlantic East Conference win in field hockey as the Pacers beat Immaculata 2-0 Wednesday afternoon. 

Lindsey Quinn scored the game-winner and Heather Forbes assisted on both Marywood goals as the Pacers improved to 8-4 overall.  Immaculata dropped to 1-15 (0-3 Atlantic East) with the loss.

Quinn's goal came in the 14th minute when she finished a deflection off a penalty corner.  Marywood would hold a 12-8 advantage in shots in the first half but could not find the back of the cage again.

Midway through the second half, Jaida Marks put the game out of reach as she put in a rebound on another penalty corner to give Marywood a 2-0 cushion.  Marks' tally was her fourth of the year.

Kerri Mountz made seven stops in goal to earn her first solo shutout of the season.  

For the game, Marywood held a 12-8 edge in shots (9-8 on goal) and 10-6 lead in penalty corners.  Randie Kuhar made six saves for the Mighty Macs.

Marywood hosts Neumann (6-5, 2-0 Atlantic East) Saturday at noon.
