Marywood Splits Home Tri-Match with King's, Pratt

Scranton, Pa. – The Marywood University volleyball team split a home tri-match Saturday with a win over Pratt Institute and a loss to King's College. The Pacers move to 14-9 on the season.

The Pacers defeated the Cannoneers by scores of 25-17, 25-11, 25-9. Marywood fell to King's by scores of 25-20, 25-18, 25-11.

Peri Sheerin moved within 15 of the program's career kills record with 13 combined kills for the tri-match.

Marywood 3, Pratt 0

Sam Compton led the Pacers with eight kills and a .222 attack percentage. Gabriella Santos and Sheerin each had seven kills.

The Pacers finished with 18 aces. Sara Burgos had five aces, and Mikayla Attwood and Santos each tallied four.

Jordan Vossler finished with 12 aces. Sara Burgos notched 24 assists.

Marywood finished with a .218 attack percentage for the match. Pratt had a minus-.058 hitting mark.

King's 3, Marywood 0

Vossler recored 19 kills in the match. Brenna Kelley was second on the team with seven.

Attwood, Sheerin and Santos each scored six kills. Burgos assisted 20 points.

Marywood heads to Lancaster Bible College on Tuesday. The Pacers finish their Atlantic East Conference schedule against Wesley College Friday with a home playoff date on the line.
