Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Pacers #4 Seed after Road Loss to Neumann

Aston, Pa. - Marywood University's women's soccer team will be the #4 seed in the Atlantic East Conference post season tournament after suffering a 5-0 road loss at Neumann Wednesday night.  The Knights jumped the Pacers in league standings and will be the #3 seed.

Neumann (8-7-1, 3-2-1) got three first half goals from Kaitlin Thomas, who added a fourth second half goal before Danni Elman closed the scoring for the Knights.  It was Neuman's first win over Marywood since 2013. Marywood is now 14-5-1 all-time against the Knights.

Neumann entered the game in fourth place with a 2-2-1 league record, needing a win to jump the Pacers (6-10, 3-3).  They did so and edged Marywood for the #3 seed and will host #6 Immaculata Monday.

Marywood will host #5 Marymount, who defeated the Pacers 2-0 in Scranton this past weekend.  Game time Monday is to be determined.

Marywood is now on a four-game slide where the Pacers have been out-scored 16-1 during that stretch, and the road does not get any easier as the Pacers host Messiah College, the second-ranked team in Division III, next.  That game, originally scheduled for 1:00 pm Saturday, has been moved to Friday at 7:00 pm in order to give the Pacers an extra day rest before the playoffs begin Monday.

Messiah will enter Friday's contest with a 14-1-1 record after drawing 0-0 against Arcadia University Wednesday night.
