Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Five in Double Figures Lead Marywood to 90-63 Win

Scranton, Pa. - Marywood's men's basketball team won their third straight game by placing five players in double figures in a 90-63 win over former conference foe Keystone College Tuesday night. Marywood improved to 6-3 with the victory while the Giants remain winless at 0-7 on the year.

19076After being honored pre-game for scoring their 1,000th career points on the same night November 20th, Jeremy Ringland scored a game-high 18 points and Thomas Swartz added 16 to lead the Pacers to their 27 point victory.  Jaden Rhoden came off the bench to score 13 and came up a rebound short of a double-double in 17 minutes of action while Jack DeGroot and Zach Tinkham each added 11.  Rhoden was 7-for-7 from the charity stripe.

Up 11-10 early, Marywood held Keystone without a field goal for the next 8:30 and used a 18-1 run during that stretch to take a commanding 29-11 lead.  Swartz helped spark that run with a dunk after he cut through the lane at the 9:30 mark, and a monster dunk from Ringland off a feed from Tone Cockrell put Marywood up 34-16 later in the first half.  The Pacers would go on to hold a 25-point, 48-23 lead at the break after shooting nearly 46% from the floor (17 of 37) in the opening frame.  The Pacers hit seven of 17 three-pointers in the first half and connected on 11 total from long range for the game.

Marywood held a comfortable double-digit lead throughout the second half, never allowing the Giants to get back into the game.  Despite hitting 47% of their efforts from the floor in the second half, the Giants were held to 39.7% shooting for the game from the floor and 28.6% shooting from long range.

The Pacers had 28 points off of turnovers and had 18 fast-break points on the night.

Marywood is back in action Saturday when they travel to Moravian College for a 4:00 pm non-conference tilt.
