Pacers, Bistran Set Fire to 3-Point Record Book

Clarks Summit, Pa. – Freshman Erika Bistran unleashed havoc on the 3-pointer record book by setting both single-game and -season records in a 77-51 victory over Clarks Summit University on Thursday in Colonial States Athletic Conference women's basketball action. The Pacers are already locked into the No. 4 seed in the conference playoffs.

Bistran had career highs with a double-double with 27 points and 16 rebounds, in addition to five assists. She made eight from beyond the arc to tie Ashley Murray's six-year old school record for a single game. Bistran also set a new school record with her 66th 3-pointer of the season, surpassing Marielle Thorsen's record of 63 from 2008-09.

As a team, the Pacers broke the school record for most 3-pointers made in a game with 15, surpassing the record of 12 twice set in 1989 (Lincoln) and 2013 (Central Penn). With 38 long-range shots, Marywood had five more than the program record. Bistran's 22 3-point shots nearly doubled the previous individual high. Overall, the team made 39.5 percent of its 3-point shots.

Natasha Hessling finished with 17 points. She made eight of her nine attempts from the field to increase her school record field-goal percentage to .566.

Aryah Aungst provided the Pacers with 13 points and seven assists.

Clarks Summit had a late charge late in the first quarter, using a 9-4 run in the final two minutes. The Defenders used a trio of 3-pointers in consecutive possessions to trim the lead to 19-18 on a Randie Traxler trey.

Torri Erdman made a pair of jumpers for the Defenders to take a 22-21 lead within the first minute of the second quarter. Gab Giordano knocked down a 3-pointer to quickly retake the lead wat the 8:19 mark. As they did all game, the Pacers and Defenders traded long-distance shots. CSU's Traxler brought the deficit down to six (39-33) with 1:58 remaining, but Aungst responded with a 3 of her own to go into halftime with a 40-31 lead.

Marywood scored the first 17 points of the third quarter to put the game away. The Pacers outscored the Defenders 27-4 in the third stanza.
