Giordano's Season High 23 Points Catapult Pacers Over Gators

Baltimore, Md. – Gab Giordano posted a season-high 23 points in Marywood University's 78-60 victory over Notre Dame of Maryland University on Saturday in Colonial States Athletic Conference women's basketball action. It was also a season-best for any Marywood player this season.
 
Giordano made nine of 13 shots from the field. She contributed three steals and three 3-pointers.
 
Erika Bistran provided a 16-point performance with seven rebounds and four 3-pointers.
 
Natasha Hessling had 12 points and eight rebounds. Catie Nealon tallied seven assists and six rebounds.
 
Marywood held the Gators to without a field goal for the first 7:30 of the game. The Pacers scored 16 of the game's first 18 points. After Zaria Comer made Notre Dame's first bucket with 2:30 left in the first quarter, Marywood went on another seven-point run. A jumper by Alyssa Olson from Aryah Aungst put the Pacers ahead 19 with 12 seconds left before quarter's close.
 
Notre Dame Maryland did not allow the Pacers to gain any traction in the second quarter with both teams netting 20 points. Marywood went into halftime with a 43-27 advantage.
 
Marywood outscored the Gators 19-4 for the final 5:30 of the third quarter. The Pacers had their largest lead of the game (72-35) with 9:11 remaining in the contest.
 
Notre Dame's Zaria Comer finished with 18 points. Dania Taylor had 14 points, and Justice Walrath came off the bench to produce 11 points.
 
The Pacers (11-10, 9-3 CSAC) remain in fourth place in the CSAC standings and trail Gwynedd Mercy University by one game in the North Divison. The Gators slip to 6-14 overall and 3-10 in conference play.
 
Marywood will host Centenary University on Wednesday night in its final regular season home game of the season.
