Women's Golf Falls to Ithaca, Cortland at Barefoot Resort

Myrtle Beach, S.C. - Playing in cold conditions and with fierce 35 mile per hour winds, Marywood University's women's golf team fell to both SUNY Cortland and Ithaca College Wednesday at Barefoot Resort's Norman Course in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. SUNY Cortland shot a team score of 361 to win the three team event.

Ithaca College shot a 372 while Marywood shot 416. In events with less than four teams, each team technically plays dual matches against the others, meaning Cortland came out of the day with a 2-0 record, the Bombers 1-1 and the Pacers 0-2.

Tessa Briselden and Mariah Casey each shot 102s for Marywood to finish tied for 11th. Christiane Lowcher shot a 103 (13th) while Brianna Baker shot a 109 (16th). Sara Sterchak was 17th overall with a score of 114.

Juliet Lepri played as an individual in the event and shot a 118 (18th place). Danielle Bambola shot a 82, which was 10-over par, to capture medalist honors for Cortland. Ithaca's Indiana Jones was the only other golfer to shoot in the 80s against the tough conditions, firing a 87 for a second-place finish.
