Watson Reaches 100 Points in Loss to SUNY New Paltz, 15-7

New Paltz, N.Y. -  Marywood University senior midfielder Caitlin Watson joined the 100 Point Club for her career in Marywood University's 15-7 loss to SUNY New Paltz on Friday in women's lacrosse. Watson became the ninth student-athlete in program history to reach the century plateau. 

SUNY New Paltz went off to a quick start, jumping out to an 8-1 lead in the first half; however, Marywood scored three of the next four goals to cut the deficit to 9-4 at halftime.

Watson led the Pacers with two goals and an assist to reach 100 points for her career. Gwyneth Gleason and Gina Babcock each finished with a goal and an assist. Gleason had four draw controls. 

New Paltz's Tara Bovich had a team-high four goals. Rachael Purtell and Caitlyn Morris totaled five points apiece. 

Mary Leahy finished with nine saves for the Pacers. Nicole Sheintul matched her with nine saves for the Hawks. 

New Paltz outshot Pacers by a 32-21 margin. The Hawks topped the Pacers in ground balls (16-11) and draw controls (13-11).  

The Pacers will host The University of Scranton on Wednesday, March 21.
