Allentown, Pa. - Marywood University improved to 6-1 in the CSAC (6-3 overall) with a 8-1 triumph over host Cedar Crest College in women's tennis action Friday afternoon.
Emily Zarrilli and Devin Zombek got things started right for the Pacers with a 8-2 win at number two doubles.  Nicole Sinclair and Brooke Panek then put the Pacers up 2-0 on the day with a 8-1 win at number three doubles, and Abygail Doud and Danielle Ogonowski completed the doubles shutout for the Pacers with a 8-2 win in the top flight, giving the Pacers a 3-0 lead heading into singles action.
There, Deena Mahdavi won 6-0, 6-1 at five-singles to put Marywood up 4-0, and Sinclair and Doud followd with wins at three and two singles, respectively, to give Marywood the decisive match points.  Zombek cruised to a 6-1, 6-2 win at six-singles while Sinclair handled Beth Kistler 6-3, 6-1 at three singles.
Cedar Crest (7-6, 6-3 CSAC) got their only point at one-singles as Taylor Doran defeated Ogonowski 6-3, 7-6 (9-7) in the top singles flight in the tightest match of the afternoon.
Marywood hosts Cairn University Saturday at 1:00 pm.
