Immaculata, Pa. – Marywood's women's tennis team has clinched yet another playoff berth despite a loss at Immaculata. The Pacers fell to the Mighty Macs 7-2. Marywood falls to 7-2 in the CSAC (7-4 Overall) as Immaculata remains unbeaten in CSAC play (8-0) and improves to 11-3 overall.
Marywood picked up one of their two points today in doubles by the team of
Nicole Sinclair and
Brooke Panek. Sinclair and Panek beat the Mighty Mac team of Liz Lipscomb and Catherine Zirolli 8-6. Immaculata's duo of Caleigh Masterson and Morgan Jacob overcame Marywood's
Danielle Ogonowski and
Abygail Doud (8-1).
In singles,
Devin Zombek picked up the other Marywood point over Catherine Zirolli (6-1, 6-1).
Emily Zarrilli forced a third set in her match against Morgen Jacobs, after dropping the first set (1-6, 6-4, 1-6). Doud also dropped a tight match, fall in three sets at two singles, 3-6, 6-2, 4-6.
Marywood faces Neumann University this Tuesday for their last regular season match. The Pacers can finish no worse than third in the conference standings.
