Prior to the doubleheader, the softball program honored the memory of Maureen "Mo" Tessier, aunt of Pacer shortstop Sara Hayes, who passed away after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer on January 29, 2018.  Mo's husband and Sara's uncle, JD, was escorted to the mound by Sara and threw out the ceremonial first pitch (pictured at left).

In the opening game, Alvarez went 2-for-3 with a double and drove in four runs to help out her own cause as she picked up her 13th win of the season on the mound.  Annie Heyen, who also had a double, went 2-for-4.  Scala drove in two as well.

In the nightcap win, Scala drove in another three and had a triple down the right field line while Jackie Burke (2-for-2) also brought in three runs and Heyen, Heather Schultz and Lauryn Butler all drove in two. Hannah Docalovich (2 for 3) also had a triple and scored three times.

Kelly McKenna allowed just six scattered hits on the mound to get the first win of her collegiate career (1-2).

Marywood will travel to Neumann Wednesday for a 4:00 pm single-elimination first round game.  The other first round game will feature #6 Cedar Crest at #3 Immaculata.  From there, the two remaining teams will advance to the weekend's double-elimination tournament held at top-seed Gwynedd Mercy University.  Cabrini University is the number two seed.
