Pacers Down Manhattanville, 4-2

Poughkeepsie, N.Y. - Marywood University rallied from an early deficit to pick up their first win of 2018, a 4-2 triumph over Manhattanville College, in the consolation game of the Betty Richey field hockey tournament hosted by Vassar College.

Kenzie Drew and Kerri Mountz represented the Pacers (1-1) on the All-Tournament team.

Marywood found themselves down 1-0 in the fifteenth minute of action when Lexi Crites found the back of the net at the 14:48 mark to put the Valiants (0-2) up 1-0.

Angela Sanchez's first collegiate goal came just 17 seconds later as she scored to tie things up for the Pacers.

Six minutes later Sanchez would find Jenna Dickey on a cross from the right side and Dickey would find the back of the cage to put Marywood up 2-1.

Early in the second half, Kenzie Drew rifled a shot from 5 yards out give the Pacers a two-goal cushion.

After Manhattanville's Emily Antinozzi (who assisted on Crites' goal earlier) scored unassisted at 59:27, Sanchez knocked home her second unassisted goal for the day, giving her five points on the afternoon.

Kerri Mountz made three saves in her first win of the year. Marywood out-shot the Valiants 22-6 and put 11 of those on goal. The Pacers also had a 13-2 advantage in penalty corners.

Marywood hosts former CSAC foe Cedar Crest College Friday night at 7:00 pm in the Pacers' home opener.
