Women's Soccer Shutout at FDU

Madison, N.J. - Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham scored early in each half to remain unbeaten (5-0) on the year as the Devils defeated Marywood (0-5) 2-0 Saturday afternoon in non-conference women's soccer.

Marywood was out-shot 20-4 (10-3 on goal) in the game, including 13-3 in the second half.  If not for several valiant efforts and spectacular saves from Aly Moyer, the scoreline could have been much worse. Moyer had a season high eight saves in the loss, most of which came in the second half.

FDU scored just 8:58 in the opening half on a breakaway from Amanda Croce, who put home her fourth goal of the year off a feed from Dari Lyons.

Despite out-shooting the visitors 7-1 in the opening half, the Devils carried that 1-0 lead into the break.

The hosts would pressure early and often in the second half, and found pay dirt just 6:27 into the stanza as Erica Martins beat Moyer near post on the end-line.

Marywood continues its quest for their first win of the season Tuesday when they host Lycoming College at 4:00 pm.
