Gallagher Makes Decade-High 13 Saves in 1-0 Loss to Hood

Frederick, Md. –  Marywood University sophomore goalkeeper Mike Gallagher made 13 saves in a 1-0 loss to Hood College Wednesday in nonconference men's soccer action. It was the most saves for a Marywood goalkeeper in a game in the past 10 seasons.

Gallagher's 13 saves were the most since Jared El Gayeh stopped 14 in a 2-0 loss to Cabrini in the Colonial States Athletic Conference semifinals.

The Blazers' Clay Smith scored the lone goal of the game in the 34th minute on an assist by A.J. Lewis.

Marywood (1-4) had a chance to take an early lead in the 11th minute but Tom Cuffari's shot was stopped by Clay Smith.

The Pacers hope to get back in the win column Saturday when they host Manhattanville College at 4 p.m.
