Pacers Come Up Short in Tri-Meet

Dallas, Pa. - The Marywood University swimming and diving teams both dropped a pair of meets against non-conference opponent Misericordia Universty and their conference opponent University of Scranton at a tri-meet hosted by the Cougars.

Women:

The Pacer women saw solid performances from Christine Llewellyn, Mary Cate Coyle, and Mia Nardone.

Llewwllyn finished second in the 1,000 Free with a time of 12:00.11. Llewelyn finished behind Scranton's Maggie Reyonlds. Mary Cate Coyle came in third in two events, first in the 200 Free and then again in the 500 Free. IN the 200 free Coyle finished with a 2:09.86. In the 500 free Coyle finished less than a second behind Scranton's Maggie Reyonlds (5:46.39) touching in at 5:47.82.

Marywood's Mia Nardone placed second in both the 200 and 100 Butterfly in two very tight races. In Nardones first race in the 200 Fly she finished just over a second behind Misericodria's Kaitlyn Weatherby (2:22.02). Nardone touches in at 2:23.31. In her second event was even closer touching in less than a second behind Marycate O'Sullivan (1:04.56) with Nardone finishing in 1:04.73.

Despite the loss Marywood had a very strong performance by Jared Lubarsky who finished in the top three in three of his events.

Lubarsky started strong in his first event coming in second in the 100 Back with a time of 1:01.32. Lubarsky followed his first event with a second place finish in the 200 Back behind Scranton's Dan Muenkel touching in at 2:15.27. Lubarsky then finished his day with a third place finish in the 100 Fly (1:05.44).

Marywood's Blake Burlingame snagged Marywood sole first place finish in the 50 Free with a 22.63 just ahead of Logan Fluegel of Misericordia. Burlinggame also has a solid performance in the 100 Free with a 52.66. Nick Dubinski finished in third in the 200 Breast with a 2:22.97 for the Pacers.

The Pacers will host Wilkes University on Saturday, January 26 at 1:00 pm for a non-conference match-up.
